SAITO Standard Lead/Acid Motorcycle Battery 12N12A-4A-1/YB12A-A 12V/12AH
• Amazing value• Powerful battery technology• Long life expectancy• Top start-up performance• Manufacturer certification to ISO 9001• Delivery includes screws /nuts, battery terminal protection lubricantNote: Remember to order your battery acid and either a funnel or battery acid dispenser at the same time as the battery. Typically you will need 2 bottles of acid to fill one battery. Please check the volume of your battery before ordering. Important Note: Always check before filling/installation that the battery will fit your bike. Put your old battery next to the new one to ensure they have the same dimensions and the terminals are in the same position. Also ensure the voltage (V) and the capacity (Ah) match.
Dimensions: Width 134mm, Height 159mm, Depth 80mm Voltage 12V Capacity 12Ah
MOTORRAD NEWS Verdict:
"Achieved 10 out of the achievable 10 points in the cold start and the performance recovery tests"
Motorrad News analysis:
"Like all standard lead-acid batteries, the SAITO battery needs regular charging during the winter break. But given that it will easily deliver performance for many years, the value equation is unbeatable given the price and the first-class test results"
Altogether 9 motorcycle batteries were compared in the tests including among others examples from brands such as Varta, Yuasa, Odyssey, Exide and AWS. All batteries tested fit in the standard battery holder of BMW motorcycle models such as the K 1100 RS and the R 1150 GS.
WHAT WE TESTED: "To ensure that the starting position of all batteries was comparable, each battery was connected for 8 hours to an intelligent motorcycle battery charger. The model used was the SAITO ProCharger which is suitable for and adapts to all battery types appropriately. Then we left them for a night, so that the batteries could lose their surface charge, which is normally distinctly higher than the underlying actual charge and consequently has no meaning in everyday use. After that relaxation period, we first measured (following the E-Norm) and documented the cold start voltage with a specialist gauge (Bosch BAT 121). Our first test result!
24 hours later, the detailed test continued. For the performance test we connected to every battery a load of 300W (heating mats) and measured the voltage after 15 minutes and 30 minutes. This establishes at what rate the battery dispenses its power and discharges itself.
Having been worn down by this loading test, we reconnected the batteries to the SAITO ProCharger and measured the voltage after 15 and 30 minutes. This documents how well and quickly the battery recovers in ideal conditions after having experience a heavy pull on its power reserves."
