What to look out for with Motorcycle Boots?
The GetGeared buying team reviews pretty much all the
motorbike boots ranges that are out there. From
Alpinestars race boots to entry-level
touring boots. When we decide which
motorcycle boot to purchase stock of, two different decisions kick in and they are most likely pretty similar to what you look at when you consider which
biker boots you want to purchase next: There are the obvious functional & protective attributes and they tend to be determined by season and
what you do on your motor bike. Are they
waterproof? Or for summer: are they
vented? Or if they are intended for
track racing or street use, what level of
protection have they got pound-for-pound? Up to about 15 years ago, that was pretty much all you had to consider alongside price. Now, there is a much wider
range of motorcycle boot types, including
short ankle boots and
motorcycle shoes,
motorcycle boots for adventure riders and so on and so forth. Not all of those considerations are to do with styling:
When the first motorcycle shoes and ankle boots were launched, they lacked protection. No ankle armour pads, no toe box. And
that is our job: To choose motor bike boots where we can tell you honestly that they will do what you need them to do - and that is a question of
protection, function, price and looks - all that together makes a great motorcycle boot for you. And we love it and hope that you enjoy the
motorcycle boot selection we made this year!
